Medicine Ball Exercise Training: For Golf Ignites Power In Your Golf Drives

Using a medicine ball exercise training for golf is as golf specific as you can get, to add maximum power to your golf drives.

Medicine balls date back hundreds of years and recently have come back as one of the main golf training tools for improved golf performance.

Core Training With Medicine Ball

One of the most effective ways to train your core (torso) for a powerful golf swing is with weighted medicine balls. You can do many rotary movements that mimic the golf swing, but with the added benefit of resistance from the weight of the medicine ball.

Medicine ball training can be fun and keep you motivated to stay with your program. If you were going into the gym and using the machines, that would get boring very quickly. This way you can literally think up new exercises during your training session.

Partner Training For More Power

The most effective what to add power to your swing is training with a golf partner, and releasing the medicine balls. Just as you release the golf club after impact, you would release the medicine ball in a throwing manner to a partner.

This type of partner training develops your fast twitch muscle fibers, and in return can dramatically increase your golf power at impact. The more throws you can make from a rotational standpoint, the quicker you will see your power improve on the course with your drives and iron swings.

Total Body Medicine Ball Training

The medicine ball can be an effective golf training aid that can utilize the entire body for golf specific resistance exercises. There are dozens of exercises you can do that will work every range of motion specific for your golf swing that will awaken your body like never before.

To be able to move so dynamically (similar to golf) with a weighted ball is literally amazing. Putting your body in positions that challenge your balance, stability and overall body awareness can only help your game.

Exercise Adherence

One of the biggest reasons for no improvement is lack of consistency. With this type of training, it's actually fun and can give you an immediate benefit to your game. Once you start seeing the enjoyment and improvement in your game, it's much easier to stick with it.
